Brett's Big Girls

Throughout the summer months, we have a wonderful view that we never get tired of. The view is of our neighbor Brett's, Big Girls.  They are North American Spotted Draft horses.

Every night they are called in from the pasture.

They enjoy their night time treat.

For almost half of the year, they live here in Colorado.  The rest of the year they live in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In Scottsdale, they work by giving people wagon rides in the desert that ends with a chuck-wagon dinner ( Brett is a great chuck-wagon cook)

I think the girls enjoy their work... But I think they probably enjoy spending their summers out here in Colorado even better (of course I might be a little prejudiced about that idea).

Look at these feeders... they are actually tractor tires... huge tractor tires.

"What?"

"Nothin, I didn't say anything"

They are beautiful big girls aren't they?

They are very sweet and gentle horses.  Steve calls them the "Gentle Giants".

They are very good natured..... most of the time.   Sometimes at feeding time they get a little cranky with each other (notice the ears).

This is Cappy.  He is 38 years old.  Isn't he beautiful still?

Harnesses and Bridles.  Even the gear is pretty.

I like old farm equipment.  I am not sure what this piece does ....must ask Brett next time I see him.

All rigged up  and ready to go.

"Its been nice.. have a great weekend".
