Thankful and Joyful

Perhaps this post should be titled "A Wedding, A Trip and A Feast", because that is the recap of my week. But let me first wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. I know I am writing this fairly late, and many of you are having your Thanksgiving reward by now... sleeping peacefully in your beds. But perhaps there are some of you out west, that are still awake.

We celebrated a wonderful Thanksgiving day today, how about you?  What did you do and what did you eat? I always love to hear how you guys celebrate your holidays.  As for us, we enjoyed a special dinner with our son Nathan and his precious family. As I had mentioned in my previous post, we have been away this last week. It was a good trip, filled with constant activity. We got home Tuesday night  just in time to put together our Thanksgiving meal.

We drove to Arizona a week and a half ago, to celebrate our son Russell, as he got married on Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding. We are so happy for Russ.  He and his new bride are a beautiful couple. His happiness is now ours. That makes four for us now; four children married; over half way there. :) Steve and I celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary this week....well, we didn't really celebrate yet... and we didn't remember until we were doing our Thanksgiving shopping a few hours from home... haha.  But it is another fun landmark that we rejoice in.

All week long we enjoyed family and friends, and finished with Russ and Michelle's beautiful wedding and reception. Then home we came; over the river and through the woods.

It snowed today.  My grandchildren have been waiting for that snow and hoping for that snow, and now they will get to enjoy it, with more to come in the morning.

Here is a small recap of our week in pictures.

It has been a wonderful and joyful week for us.  We are very Thankful to God for many things. I have a few fun stories I would love to tell... but I'm thinking they will have to wait.  In the meantime, Blessings to you all and Happy Thanksgiving.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving! You are soooo busy. Both your brothers married Gloria's. :) That is pretty neat. Congrats on another daughter in law. Their cake looked so yummy!! :) Happy your grandbabies have snow to play in. Our children are anxious for some as well but me not so much. Although, it sure is pretty.

    1. Nikki, you can see that I was sleepy as I was writing this post... as my brother's didn't both marry girls named "Gloria".. haha my brother Dave's wife is Elvia. I have fixed the typo now. Thanks for stopping in. Hugs to you all.

  2. Your a funny girl and this was so sweet to all the photos! I have missed you and your family. We are blessed here and I did loose my voice, it was a gift in a way, as I did a lot of listening!
We got about 5 inches this morning of that fun white stuff!
Warmly sitting by the fire today...

  3. It sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I love the photos and are so happy for Russ and his new bride. What a fun new adventure for them!
I am so glad you got snow and the grand children will enjoy it all! The boys have been outside off and on all's been nice and quiet while they play in the snow.
It's going to be a long winter, I think I need to find an indoor hobby to do. Just relaxing and watching a is good!
Enjoy your weekend! Please tell everyone hello from us! Love ya!
    Hugs, Amy

  4. Does sound like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We miss out on that and it's a holiday I wish we had a version of as I would love to set a Thanksgiving table! A family wedding for you too this year. Our son's wedding was the highlight of my year. We still have friends who were guests telling us how much they enjoyed the day and especially the food. I still can't believe we cooked a roast dinner for 120 people but I'm not offering catering services anytime soon! Christmas dinner will seem like a walk in the park this year. Three more birthdays before Christmas though. The twins are 10 next week. They want to go to the new water slide park that opened last month so no big party to organize but we will have a special family dinner on their actual birthday. So lovely to see more photos from your trip and I'm sure you are now thinking ahead to Christmas. Love the cross and centrepiece you created for Thanksgiving and oh those green goblets are beautiful!

  5. It was a big slice of heaven to read your post and see the pictures Mom. I love that the kids get to have some snow time! Love each and every picture of EVERYONE :) Oh and that centerpiece is just gorgeous with the backdrop of the mountains. Making me super homesick for you and everyone. I am so happy to get a taste of everything right here. LOVE YOU!!!

  6. Happy Thanksgiving and Congratulations to your family!! ~Heather
