My friend Roxy,
livingfromglorytoglory.blogspot.com, is well known amongst the girls of my family for the lovely aprons she makes. She has blessed me, my daughters, my daughter in law, and many friends as well as her own daughter and daughter in law, with aprons through out the years. We all love, love, love, receiving a new apron from her. I have often thought of making an apron, because I always find them appealing, but have not had the need of an apron these many years, because Roxy has always kept me well supplied... and delightfully so. But today, we had a chance to get together at her house and sew; and guess what we did? We made aprons. Yay. We had a wonderful time sewing to our hearts content. We decided that we are going to get together at least once a month and sew something together. We thought about some crazy names for our new club: lets see..... The Sewing Swans" hee he he, "The Singing Sewers", "The nutty needleworkers", "The Material Mamas"..."Material Girls" Hee hee. What do you think?
This is my project of the the week, and the most instruction I am going to give this time, is to encourage you to go to the material store and buy a pattern and some material and go for it.
Have fun
"Material Cat"
Kitties do not like being on the side lines..... they must be in the middle of the fun.
Have a lovely weekend.
Blessings,
Pam
Mom the aprons look like they are right out of an Anthropologie magazine! What an inspiring post! I love the picture of Roxy and of her cat. And the names of your club are so fun! ;) I can't wait to see what other creations you two sew up!!
ReplyDeleteLove you!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that red and green diamonds with the flowers! How creative! Some-one gave my mom a red and green re-versible one that I have "decorating" my kithen right now. :-D
ReplyDeleteI'm with Elizabeth, I can't wait to see what ya'll sew together! Keep the posts coming! I LOVE hearing about your world!
Lots of love,
Danielle
Dear Pam, it was so fun to see your post on our day together. I so look forward to more times of sewing. Your the dearest of friends I am so blessed to have you in my life.. Love Roxy
ReplyDeleteI decided last week to begin some simple sewing project. Not sure an apron is simple enough for me, but I said to the girls on Sat night that we'd attempt one together. Now you've given me the boost I need! Once we *really* get into Autumn and the workload decreases (says she hopefully!), I'm gonna get a-sewing... watch this space.
ReplyDeleteThese ones are gorgeous, though I did have to blank-out the last photo. Pam! How could you?! If you *must* post a photo of -you-know-what ... please at least post a government health warning before I scroll down.
It could go something like: Would members of the public please be aware that the following photograph contains images that could seriously damage health....if you're one of those nutty-phobic-unreasonable Scots women who just can't look at you-know-whats.
That would suffice!
Love, Anne x
What beautiful aprons. I've been wanting to have a go at sewing one just like them myself!
ReplyDeleteAnother inspiring post. Thank you!
Pam what a delightful post. Making aprons is so wonderful, I still have one that I made from coping one that you had. I am filled with good memories every time a wear it!
ReplyDeleteOh you girls all just warm my heart. I love you so much. And Anne, you just crack me up; and I have to say I did actually think of you when I posted the cat picture... I can't resist an adorable kitty, but I thought of you and I chuckled, but couldn't think of even one funny thing to say in an effort to give you fair warning (because it was too late at night when I was posting), but I do have my brain ticking for a label I can come up with that I can post as a warning on future kitty pictures. LOL. But come on don't you think that kitty is especially cute?
ReplyDeleteLove you all
Pam
Lol - Anne's comment is funny, but when you are actually with Anne and she mentions a you-know-what...then her reaction is something similar to almost an anaphylactic reaction where she would need a shot of adrenaline....its rather distrubing, so best left unmentioned!!!
ReplyDeleteThe aprons really are a work of art, they look so pretty!! I sure wish I had a talent like that!
I should have edited that - Anne would never mention a you-know-what, but if someone inadvertently was to go and mention one...that is what would happen!
ReplyDeleteDear Pam,
ReplyDeleteI put my vote in for "The Nutty needle workers" that's too cute...Deffinately not Material Girls...as I have seen that used to exhaustion.. : ) Deffiantley Nutty Buddies..Okay I wish I could be there to sew with you..and beacause I can't I have a suggestion..How about an Apron Swap...Who ever joins we Somehow pick randomly( maybe you and Roxy can put all the names in a hat and pick one each and those two will be partners for the swap..fun Huh..) then we can blog and post so everyone can see where there Aprons landed.. Let me know what you think...Oh and you still have yet to put yourself back in the top of my followers..truly it would be such a sweet gift as you were to me...
In Christ
