Saying good bye to Jo

From Left to right: Sara Jo (Steve's Mom) , our grandson Winston, Steve, and our daughter Elizabeth.

I just wanted to post an update of what has been happening with us in this season.  We lost Steve's Mom after Christmas, from a battle with cancer.  Our loss is heaven's gain; we know that she is rejoicing there with Jesus and all her loved ones that have gone before her.  She will be greatly missed by our family, as she was a precious Mom, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was also a wonderful homemaker that inspired myself and my daughters with all of the ways that she made a home beautiful, practiced hospitality and cooked such delicious meals; she has had a great influence on our lives.  Our daughters and grandsons and our oldest son Nathan are here right now; such a joy and comfort to have them.  I have been a way from blog land for a short season as we have been in the midst of these things,  but today a little of the "normal" is beginning again. I will be back shortly, with a fresh start to a new season, and look forward to visiting with you all then.
 Blessings to you all.

  1. So sorry for your earthly loss my friend. What a lovely lady she seems to be! (She still lives...just not here!) May the Lord give you much grace and strength and peace as you walk this path of sorrow. Your precious Mom-in-Love has entered her eternal Home...what a thought! Praying for you all today. Much Love, Camille (I Thess. 4:13-18)

  7. So sorry for your loss Pam and Steve, and I am sure Jo's memorial service would have been a wonderful testament to those attending. She looks such a precious lady and your mention of her being a wonderful homemaker made me think about Heaven being our real home, our homes here we can only make just a taste of Heaven but can you imagine what homemaking in Heaven will be like? We know we will live in homes there prepared by Christ and dine with Him and fellow Saints at the Marriage Feast. There will be no cleaning as there will be no dirt or dust but I'm sure there will be exquisitely beautiful flowers to arrange that will never wilt or die!
You and your family are in my prayers and I look forward to your new posts for this year. Giving thought to how I can bring back my blog too.

  10. So sorry for your loss Pam. Although you can rejoice that she is with Jesus and take great comfort from that too, it's still hard for those close family who miss a dearly loved one. Please pass on my condolences and love to the girls too on the passing of their grandmother. My own grandmother passed away in the late summer. She too is trouble free in heaven now but it still seems so hard to believe she is no longer here. xxx
